What is Meditation?
Meditation is a discipline used to understand and experience pure knowledge.   The benefits of meditation include  inner calm, peace and confidence which are applied to daily life. 

Meditation has found a place within Western lifestyles through the integration of Eastern and Western philosophies.  Meditating is no longer limited to sitting cross legged, making ohm sounds with incense burning. While there are several types of seated meditation, they can basically be categorized into one of two types - relaxation meditation and conscious meditation.  

 

Relaxation meditation generally uses guided imagery to take you away from your body, your stress, worries, pain, etc. Relaxation meditation is often used for patients seeking temporary relief from high levels of pain.  While many people like the idea of using this meditation to escape from their troubles, in truth, they will return to the stress, worries, and pain manifesting in the physical, mental and emotional bodies.  This type of meditation offers temporary relief. 

 

Conscious meditation takes you into your body, enabling you to experience your inner/outer self with present moment awareness. Conscious meditation directs your attention in such a way that you witness and transcend the ever present thoughts flowing through your mind, while transforming your thoughts, emotions and physical realities.

 

While most people do not like the idea of experiencing discomfort they soon realize their power lies in transforming and transcending the way things influence them through consciousness. This type of meditation creates present moment awareness, Veracis Meditation™.

 

 

 

What type of Meditation does Veracis Wellness offer?

 

Veracis Meditation is a conscious meditation, integrating the benefits of relaxation.  Classes are an integration of Eastern and Western, non-religious, energy based philosophies designed to develop your awareness as Spirit.  

 

When regularly practicing Veracis Meditation™  you identify and clear away distracting thoughts and emotions using powerful tools learned.  Meditation classes are offered in five levels throughout the year, each building on the previous level.    

 

Level I,Spirit Awareness Meditation,  is the foundation class, teaching you a structured format to focus inwards with truth, trust and amusement, and to access abilities to create the life you want for yourself.  

 

Meditation Levels II-V build on creating compassion through life lessons in relation to Spirit, mind and body.

Learning and practicing a disciplined meditation accelerates your personal and spiritual growth. Typically people are drawn to meditation classes in the same way they would learn in any one or two hour weekly class.  They come to class once a week to learn, knowing the series ends.

Meditation Benefits

 

 

How long are Meditation Classes?

 

Level I - IV
4 week series - 2 hours, once a week
7 week series - 90 minutes, once a week

 

Level V 
45 classes - 3 hours a week plus retreat

 

Offered equally to men and women, in consecutive levels (five in total) meditation classes provide ongoing support throughout the year, allowing you to continue at a pace that is convenient to you.  

Complimentary herbal tea and treats are provided to nourish spirit, mind and body during breaks. 

 

How big are your classes?  

Veracis Meditation™ class sizes are generally smaller (approximately 7-12 people), ensuring you receive individualized attention.  

 

Where do we Meditate?

Seated comfortably in chairs, new topics are introduced every week through instruction, directed experiential meditation and student teacher interaction at Veracis Wellness Center, 86 Moody Street, Port Moody, B. C.  You will also be asked to practice meditating at home between classes. 


 

Do I need to take Level I if I already meditate?
Yes, unless you can show us you are familiar with the Spirit Awareness Meditation format, then you must take Level I before proceeding to Level II or higher.     

 

Waivers & Privacy

You will be asked to read and sign a meditation waiver before beginning your first class.  Your information remains confidential to Veracis Wellness Inc.  Class guidelines and boundaries are established at the beginning of the first class.  For example:  Keep everything shared in class confidential.  Do not compare yourself with others.  Focus on yourself.  Have fun!
